The Dragon Knight Reborn

Well earlier didn't give much detailed report on the (almost) week since Halloween so here we are, today as  the date says is November 5th and I'm just sitting around waiting for Kathy to return home so I can borrow some money off her to buy Divinity II the developers cut, I'm going to do a quick preview of it now as I have played and beaten the original games campaign (Divinity II Ego Draconis)

Divinity II Ego Draconis is a very well crafted RPG most people missed because Divine Divinity was before most gamers generation, I however being fond of older games and spurning new ones came across it, it was like Diablo and The Elder Scrolls mixed to make a new game, story was about the Divine (Lucien in Divinity II) becoming the Divine and saving the world from the demons the second game takes place after it and after Lucien was betrayed by Damien (pretty much evil incarnate) and a mind controlled dragon knight thus the dragon knights were hunted down and butchered by dragon slayers, however the PC starts out as a dragon hunter in training and comes across a wounded veteran dragon knight, the last pure dragon knight as all the others have been tainted by Damien in his quest to resurrect his dead lover (who was part of the cult that was using Damien to rule the world). Damien now has disappeared after a great war, thought to be defeated and dead, he secretly builds an army of demons and undead to destroy Rivellon (the game world) anyways the dragon knight passes her essence onto the PC who becomes the last true Dragon Knight and despite being persecuted by his once comrades goes on a quest to defeat Damien and save Rivellon from his army.

Gameplay:

Gameplay was fun, 3rd person perspective, classic RPG touches to a modern system and a whole new concept as fighting in the skies as great winged fire breathing dragon. Yep you heard me, you get to play as a  dragon, fuck Skyrim and it's speaking in dragon tongue and casting powerfull spells when you can become one of the great beasts and rule the sky. Fighting on the ground was nothing too special, fun and actually challenging unlike most games these days, players had the unique ability of creating from separate corpse pieces, a undead creature that will help the PC in battles to come, whether as a warrior type creature who meets it's opponents head on or a magical fiend that uses ranged spells to fell it's foes.

Graphics:

The graphics aren't top notch but excellent compared to the original games (being many years apart),
the world is a beautiful and unique place, rolling hills, mountain ranges, valleys and fjords, a tropical mystic Island in the middle of a vast and endless sea, overall it delivers a unique vastness that most RPGs seem to miss

  Developer's Cut:

From what I hear it is pretty much exactly what it says, you get the dev mode (the mode the developers play it in) which allows you to pretty much cheat as well make enormous battles of hundreds of NPCs and such,
it allows the character to change into any creature in the game, (and unique NPCs I think like Damien or the Great Wizard Zandilor or hell maybe even Lucien). All in all it sounds to be an excellent touch to the game, the cherry ontop of the dragon filled sundae if you would.

The World:

The world of Rivellon is so detailed it makes the other recent RPG worlds look bland and distasteful in comparison, such deep lore and immersion into the world without having to spend hours and hours upon Wikipedia looking up things  to understand what is going on in the game. There will be a few things missed here and there if you are not a veteran of the original games like I or other vet gamers (such as the teleporter stones.)

All In all we are going to give this gem a
8.5/10
